GLENDALE, CA, June 23, 2016 - IIABCal’s state final for the Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship will be held July 11th and 12th here at the Oakmont Country Club. The boys and girls that qualify to play are hoping to advance to the Trusted Choice Big I National Championship – to be held this year in Sacramento, CA - and compete against nationally ranked junior players and the champions from 39 states.
The Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship is one of the nation’s premier junior golf events. This year, more than 2,500 boys and girls will attempt to qualify for one of the 156 spots in the Trusted Choice Big I National Championship to be held Aug. 1-4, 2016 at the Del Paso County Club in Sacramento.
Sponsored by the more than 300,000 members of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, the Big “I” began as a community service project in 1969.
“More than 200 member agents dedicate countless hours and, in some cases, personal resources to ensure the successful conduct of the nationwide local and state qualifying tournaments,” said Jake Bramlett, chairman of the Trusted Choice Big I National Championship National Committee. “I’m extremely proud of these people and their deep-rooted concern for their communities.”
“It’s hard to believe that one of the U.S.’s most prestigious tournaments is conducted very successfully by everyday citizens in the community—local independent insurance agents,” said Bramlett.
Rick Dinger, chairperson of the California Big “I” State tournament, points to the countless hours being spent by independent insurance agents preparing for the local qualifying tournaments around the country.
“This effort here in California is being duplicated throughout the country, with thousands of independent agents giving of their time to help better their communities by providing positive challenges for our nation’s younger citizens,” said IIABCal National Director Rick Dinger, whose local insurance association – IBA-BGP - is sponsoring the tournament. “This tournament provides a positive outlet for American youngsters to channel their energies and develop good sportsmanship.
The Big “I”’s clean competitive environment builds character and offers an experience that will stay with participants for years to come,” Dinger said.
