Are You Ready for November's Ballot Measures?
The two finalists in the campaign for California Insurance Commissioner are finally known--almost a month after the June 7th Primary—with Republican Robert Howell narrowly edging Democratic Assemblyman Marc Epstein for the right to challenge incumbent Ricardo Lara in November. Given the overwhelming voter registration advantage Democrats enjoy over Republicans in California, the Commissioner is probably greatly relieved he doesn’t have to run against another Democrat.

CalMatters, a nonpartisan and nonprofit news organization, reported the latest initiative to qualify: a proposed 1.75% tax on Californians earning more than $2 million to fund an array of environmental programs, including new electric car rebates and building an electric-vehicle charging infrastructure. San Diego "I" Day Big Hit
I-Day San Diego "Travel the Insurance World.....Destination I-Day!" was held on May17, 2022. We had over 100 exhibitors, 38 sponsors, and close to 1,000 overall attendees. We offered a morning CE, had morning and afternoon exhibit hours, and our annual awards luncheon with guest speaker "Shotgun Tom Kelly" (see photo right).

Night with the Rivercats
The IIAB Sacramento has been busy at work around the community! In May, our Community Service Committee’s own Kevin Reeves put together this annual event to support our local baseball team, The Rivercats!
This year was a super special event as local agents got to watch our own, Rose Kaerth, throw out the first pitch! Rose, our Executive Director, is retiring after 35 years with the Association. It was a special night! Proceeds from the event benefitted the Sacramento Chapter of the US Veteran Business Alliance. Be on the look out for our upcoming events!

IBA-SFV Golf & Happy Hour
The IBA-SFV last month had a super anticipated Golf Day after a two-year delay due to Covid. Bringing this event to our backyard, Braemar Country Club served as our 2022 hosted venue, attracting some 144 golfers. Clearly everybody was eager to get back to the IBA-SFV event, and we look forward to Golf Day 2023 at Porter Valley Country Club on May 15, 2023.

Happy Hour at Hotel Angeleno
The IIABA-LA in April hosted its first in-person event in two years at the Angeleno Hotel. Members and non-members alike were welcomed at the poolside terrace for peer-to-peer and company networking. It was great to see familiar and new faces come together and take advantage of the opportunities that come from networking with like-minded professionals.
