RANCHO MIRAGE, CA, Nov. 9, 2016 -- IIABCal last week presented the California State Compensation Insurance Fund with the IIABCal Emerging Leaders Golden Bear Award during its annual conference, InsurFEST 2016.

The award honors State Fund for its hard work, dedication and commitment to the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California and its Emerging Leaders Network.

“State Fund has been a friend of independent insurance agents and brokers in California for many years and is a true supporter of the independent agency system and the association,” said Devon Borisoff, IIABCal Emerging Leaders Committee member, as he presented the award to State Fund.

“Established in 1914 by the state legislature, the State Compensation Insurance Fund has operated for 100 years, is California’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance, and a vital asset to California businesses, Borisoff said. 

The award was presented to Jennifer Vargen, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for the State Compensation Insurance Fund, during the closing luncheon of InsurFEST 2016, held at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, Rancho Mirage, CA.
